Doris Pilkington Garimara Nugi Garimara 1 July — 10 April was an award-winning Martu author, celebrated for her profound contributions to Indigenous literature. Doris was born to her mother, Molly Craig, and her birth was unregistered, leading the Department of Native Affairs to record her birth date as 1 July At the tender age of three and a half, she was taken from her mother and placed in the Moore River Native Settlement.
