Senior superintendent of police SSP Hardial Singh Mann told reporters at a press conference that police had cracked a blind murder case of a Jaswinder Singh, which was lodged by the Haryana police at the Siwan police station. He said police had arrested Balwinder Singh of Samana in connection with an Arms Act case; however, during the course of investigation it came to fore that he had also executed a murder.
During preliminary investigation of the accused, it came to light that Balwinder often used to visit Randhawa village, where his sister was married, said the SSP. At Randhawa, the accused came in contact with a Jaswinder Singh, who had sold a two-acre premises for 35 lakh in , of which Balwinder was aware, and offered Jaswinder a property deal in Nawa Gaon near Chandigarh, said Mann.
Jaswinder had kept a part of 35 lakh with Balwinder in a good faith; however, to usurp the money, the accused murdered Jaswinder when he approached Balwinder to seek his money in January , said the SSP. Similarly, police claimed to have solved the murder case of a Gurbhej Singh, which was registered at the Ghagga police station. While investigating the case, police arrested Pal Singh of Sodhiwala Ugoke and during preliminary investigation the accused purportedly confessed to have committed the crime, said the SSP.
It was found that Gurbhej was a caretaker of the Sodhiwal family and was looking after the house and legal matters of the family since He was loyal towards the Sodhiwal family. Pal Singh had taken a acre premises from the Sidhuwal family on a lease 25 years back, but allegedly refused to hand over the possession to the owners.
