He is a mentor and spiritual father to many men of God and well-known world leaders. Before he became a full-time pastor and evangelist, Pastor Enoch was a professor of Mathematics at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. In fact, the family was so poor that he could not afford to pay their school fees anyway. However, Enoch was so particular about receiving a formal education, and when his requests to be sent to school were dismissed by his father, he went on a hunger strike in a bid to persuade him.

His father eventually gave in and sold one of his goats to pay for his school fees. Thus, Enoch Adeboye was enrolled at the only missionary school in their village. After his primary education, young Enoch moved to Ilesha Grammar School, Ilesha, Osun State, Western Nigeria, in , where he discovered his passion for science and mathematics.
